Park & Play is a free inclusive event designed to unite residents across Gentilly with a special emphasis on promoting literacy, wellness, positive recreation, and celebrating Juneteenth. This day of unity will offer engaging activities for all ages and abilities—youth, seniors, parents, and individuals with varying needs. Highlights include free drinks, snowballs, books, games, activities, sports demonstrations, and a resource fair.
A dedicated segment will honor Juneteenth, celebrating African American history, culture, and freedom through storytelling, music, dance and educational demonstrations. The event will also spotlight emerging community leaders through storytelling, art, and entrepreneurship. Our goal is to reduce crime, boost civic engagement, and strengthen community ties across Gentilly. Pontchartrain Park’s rich history in New Orleans adds to the spirit of the event—come out and see what it’s all about!
